Journey Story-Misty-Destiny

Destiny

Fifteen minutes till schools out,
it’s like an hour glass, falling grain by grain.
She talks about equations,
“2=5-3, now class how did I come up with that?”
And all I can think about is tonight.
“Right, it’s the same thing if it was switched around.”
I hear her voice once more,
I’m anxious and scared;
I finally got the courage and asked her out.

You can only imagine my shock when she said yes!
There had been joy in her answer and a smile on her face.
I felt like the sun after the rain.

I walked up to her,
I was extremely nervous;
I was sweaty and shaky,
and to top it off my hands felt clammy.
I could hear the people around me talking,
“So he just dumped you, just like that?” a girl said besides me.
I shoved her voice out of my head and focused at the task on hand.

Here I go; she’s looking at me,
she’s so beautiful,
with her brown soft eyes and her beautiful white smile.
I look her way but don't know what to say.
“Lana, I was wondering…” I say in a low nervous voice.
She’s staring and now I forgot what I was going to say,
“…if you’re not to busy Friday night, I was wondering if you would like to go out with me?”

I look at the clock,
Ten minutes to go.
Frustration over comes me,
I feel like a coke bottle that has just been shaken and is ready to explode.
Today was the day,
and it had seemed like it would never come around.
All of a sudden I feel my head and whole body turning hot,
my breathing slows down,
I’m thinking to myself,
“When will this day end?”
Then I start to get a huge headache out of nowhere,
like I just got hit in the head with a sledge hammer.
Then the unexpected happens,
the clock and windows shatter everywhere.

I think to myself,
“Did I do that?”
I laugh it off and leave the class as instructed.
I look at the faces around me,
Scared and confused,
Like little kids lost at the zoo
I can’t help but be amused.

Today was the day.
Excitement consumes me.
Three hours to go.

I get home; my mother greets me as usual,
with a cheerful voice and a smile on her face.
“How was school?” She says.
With confusion in my voice,
I tell her what happened.
When I'm done I look over to her,
her eyes are looking down,
and I know she has something to say.
With sadness and sympathy on her face and voice
she tells me like it was served on a tray.
What happens next still amazes me.

Apparently I’m not from this planet,
an alien if you will,
who came here many years ago,
who has “powers” from long ago.
I was shocked yet amused;
you know this only happens to a few.

I laugh it off,
Take it as a joke.
After all I got other thinks to do.
Two and a half hours to go.

The perfect night with the perfect girl,
there’s nothing that can ruin this for me.

It’s six o’ clock,
I pull up the driveway.
I’m anxious yet excited.
I’m hoping this night will be everything I hoped it would be.
She’s the girl of my dreams;
I’ll go to extremes
so she won’t leave me.

Where at the movies,
I’m nervous,
I’m sure she can feel it.
She places her hand upon mine,
I feel like were a shrine.
At the moment the room began to shack.

All around me there’s people running and screaming.
I look at the screen with tension,
and then the screen starts on fire,

Boy did that come to my attention.
She made me feel something;
I can’t explain it in words,
All I know is it’s a feeling I’ve never felt before.
And now I think that I started that fire,
Because of sexual desire.
I take her by the hand and lead her away,
Boy did she look mighty gray.

I look down to her;
I can see the fear on her face and in her eyes,

It looked like she wanted to cry.
“I know your scared let me take you home” I said to calm her down.

Where sitting outside her house,
there goes my date.
“How weird was that? When do you know of the screen burning like that?”
She says to me in a calming yet scared voice.
My reaction was to ignore the question and get out of the car.
I reach to open the door,
to my amazement it comes out of the hinges.
I choose to ignore it but,
now more than ever
I can see she wants to get away.
“Leave me alone” she screams as she’s running away from me.

Everything I had hoped for was ruined.
My anticipations and dreams of her were crushed in a second.
Not because of her or anyone else for that matter, But me.
I was a freak in her eyes and will always remain one.

I’m different yet unique,
I understand that now.
I know I can only get stronger,
my abilities can only grow.

I know I have a future,
a destiny to fulfill.
To help the people in need of me,
To be the man of steel.
