Journey Story - Ronald - Death, What a Bad Experience
*Death, What a Bad Experience*
It was a dark cloudy morning when Steven woke up. It was 8:30, already too late to go to school so he stretched and got up to drink some water and watch TV. When he got up he had a bad feeling in his stomach like something was wrong but he thought it was hunger. He didn’t think much of it so he went on with his day.He did his usual routine which was brushing his teeth and then getting some breakfast while watching his morning news.
Steven and his mom were the only people in the house that morning. Everyone else was either at school or working. It was about 9:00 a.m. and he was just cleaning up the mess left from the night before. His mother woke up tired and hungry so he made her something to eat. It was about 9:45 now and they both wondered why grandma had not woken up. So mom said, "Go check what grandma is doing." So Steven replied, "She is probably still sleeping mom .I don't want to bother her." Then his mom said, "Grandma should be drinking her coffee already, that's kind of weird." But they did not pay much attention to this because they figured she was tired.
Steven thought, "She did stay up late last night watching TV." So they both continued with their day, mom went to wash the dirty laundry and Steven was outside washing the car for his dad. Around 10:30 mom was already resting from doing the laundry and Steven was finishing up with the car drying the last window.
At this time mom was thinking to herself, " It’s really late now for mother to be sleeping. She should be showered and ready to go to church. This is really weird." So she decides to go check on her and when she check under her blanket she finds grandma cold and kind of bluish. Steven hears a very loud scream in the hose so he runs into the house screaming, "Mom what’s wrong! What’s wrong?" Then Steven hears, "She's dead, oh my god I can’t believe she's dead." Steven walks into the room slowly to seeing his mom kneeling next to grandma's bed crying her eyes out. Suddenly tears start to run down Steven's cheeks as he goes and hugs his mother.
This was Steven's first encounter with death and what a sad encounter it was. But as time went by and family, friends, and the ambulance came, Steven became less sad about this whole experience. Steven thought, "At least she is in a better place now." Steven's grandmother was not living much of a great life because she had diabetes, an amputated leg, and very bad eyes. So Steven found resolution in thinking about his grandmother being in a better place.
