Final writting assingment- Lopez,Edgar- Native Son

Final Writing Assingment - Native Son
Reading the book Native Son by Richard Wright, made me realize that African Americans living in the 1930's struggled alot just to make ends meet. People like bigger even took drastic meassures just to get money. I learned that they committed these crimes not because they enjoyed it, but because they wanted a better life for their families. They lived in a time when African Americans didn't have the same opportunities as the white men, therefore, making them unable to get decent jobs which will provide them with good pay. Eventhough these things happened a long time ago, some people are still being discriminated today. Not alot has changed over the years. I now understand why some people commit crimes today. They commit them because they too need money. It is their struggle to survive in this unforgiving world where people are still being discriminated.
